East Lismore is a highly coveted part of town especially amongst students, professionals and older families. Houses in East Lismore are mostly older-style high-set timber homes appropriate for Lismore’s hot climate – making for a sought-after location close to shops, schools and amenities. 

Living in East Lismore
A lovely leafy part of town, homes in East Lismore covers streets east of the Wilsons River. It has the advantage of being high on the hill, and some boast stunning views over the whole city, which looks beautifully lit up at night from afar.
 
A hub for education, this suburb has some great public schools – Wyrallah Road Primary School and Lismore High School – as well as being host to Southern Cross University’s main campus, which attracts students from all over Australia and internationally. Many university students and academics reside in the local student accommodation or in rentals scattered throughout the area.
 
Sporting enthusiasts will feel right at home in this part of town, as East Lismore boasts a great selection of sporting facilities, such as Lismore Golf Course, Richmond Rovers Soccer Ground, Liverpool FC Sporting Academy and Wade Park. And you won’t want for local facilities, as a local shopping complex and St Vincent’s Private Hospital can be found in East Lismore, in addition to being in close proximity to the various larger amenities found all over the city.

As a quiet part of the city with great amenities close by, it is no wonder East Lismore is popular amongst families, university students and Lismore professionals seeking easy access to all parts of town.
 
This area has a population of just over 5,000 people and is predominantly made up of character timber homes built between the 1950s to the 1970s, perfect for those with a love of the very on-trend mid-century decorating style. As an added bonus, many of these classic homes sit high on the hill with great views and lovely summer breezes.
 
Buyers interested in more prestigious homes are also in luck; there are some executive properties with an outlook over the golf course to be found in this suburb. As a very popular part of the city, properties get snapped up quickly, though property prices do remain quite affordable for the discerning real estate buyer.
